Body Identified as Victim in 2005 Boat Accident

A body that washed up on a beach in Grand Haven Township in 2008 has been positively identified as a Wisconsin man who had been missing since a 2005 boating accident. The accident occurred during an event called the Smoke on the Water Poker Run, in which entrants boated up and down the shores of Lake Michigan to collect cards for poker hands. The boat made a sharp turn, ejecting four passengers. One man died in the accident, in addition to the one who went missing.

The body was discovered by a beach walker last year, and remains were sent to a forensics lab in the University of North Texas in Ft. Worth.
