Man fined after trailer fell off and caused fatal accident

A man whose trailer became loose and caused an accident that killed a 19-year-old college student.

The 59-year-old man was fined in the Brown County Circuit Court for towing with improper safety chains and having hitches that did not meet standards.

The accident occurred as the man was driving on U.S. 41 and the trailer broke free from the truck all of a sudden and hit a nearby car. The driver of the car, the college freshmen was killed in the accident. The man must pay $401 in fines because of the incident.
