State trooper struck by car while helping with another accident

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper was injured after he was struck by a car while helping to direct traffic from another accident.

According to the State Patrol, the accident occurred as the troopers tried to direct traffic away from a pickup truck rollover accident that occurred in the area.

The 51-year-old trooper was standing in the roadway when a female driver lost control of the vehicle on the snowy roads and struck the man. The woman and her two children that were in the car were uninjured, but the man was transported to the hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Car accidents can happen unexpectedly, our thoughts are with the trooper as he recovers.
