Man killed in tubing accident on Lake Holcombe

A 29-year-old man was killed in a boating accident on Lake Holcombe as he was being pulled behind the boat on a tube.

According to officials, the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. when a 14-year-old was driving the boat and navigating through pillars. There were three adultĀ  passengers also on the boat.

As the tube was being pulled behind the boat, it struck a pillar as it went underneath the bridge. The injured tuber was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision. The driver of the boat had completed a boat safety course and there is no reason to believe that alcohol was involved.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.
