Michigan advocates fight to prevent nursing home abuse

Posted on Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 at 11:06 pm

A Michigan agency is fighting to keep the rights of disabled and elderly while in nursing homes, but advocating to stop abuse.

The Michigan Protection and Advocacy Protection Agency works to protect the legal rights of the disabled. The agency recently reported on two cases where maggots were found in nursing home patients. One in the person’s trachea and the other in an open wound.

The agency claims that these two cases show a statewide failure to provide quality care to nursing home residents. The agency released a report in order to shed light on these instances in order to correct the neglectful care.

If you or someone you care about has been the victim of negligent nursing home care, you need experienced representation on your side. Contact the Wisconsin nursing home abuse attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C., by calling 800-242-2874 today.
