Build-A-Bear recalls 300,000 teddy bears for choking hazard

Toy manufacturer Build-A-Bear, has announced that recall of more than 300,000 teddy bears after it was found that the eyes may losen and become a choking hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission along with Build-A-Bear announced the recall of the “Colorful Hearts Teddy” right before Christmas day because of fabric that is not up to the company’s standards.

The weak fabric may caused eye area to tear and the eye button could become lose. Young children may then put this in their mouth and choke on the item. The recalled item was sold between April 2011 and December 2011. People who have purchased the bear can return it to the store for a refund.

Buggy and car accident sends two to Tomah Memorial

A collision between a buggy and a car left two people in the hosptial after suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Officials investigating the crash stated that the accident occurred when a 61-year-old man was passing two Amish buggies on the roadway.

While passing, one of the buggies attempted a left turn and collided with the man’s car. The buggy was knocked over onto its side as a result and two people inside, ages 18 and 21, were injured as a result.

Two injured in Michigan construction accident

Two people were injured in a construction accident that occurred in Iron Mountain, Michigan after trusses fells while they were working on constructing a new medical center.

According to officials, the workers were injured when they were working on the trusses and they collapsed. The two men have not been identified, but it is known that they were both employed with Wisconsin firms that were contracted for the project. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

Ocean Spray recalls Craisins after small metal pieces found in packages

Batches of the dried cranberry products, or Craisins, have been recalled by Ocean Spray after small metal pieces were found in the packages.

The product, known as “Sweetened Dried Cranberries” were sold in 5-ounce, 10-ounce and 48-ounce packages. Although these pieces may be very small, they can cause serious harm to a person.

No injuries have yet been linked to the packages, but officials are asking that consumers dispose of the affected batches. Also, coupons will be given in order for consumers to receive a refund on the package.
