Motorcyclist injured in hit-and-run crash on Hwy 41, Appleton man charged

A motorcyclist was hurt after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle near Prospect Avenue the afternoon of March 27.

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at around 4 p.m. after a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle that was about to change lanes. The motorcyclist sustained injuries to his hands and arms from the crash. The other vehicle driver, a 48-year-old Appleton man, fled the accident scene, but was later found by authorities. He was charged with hit-and-run causing injury, unsafe lane deviation, and other traffic related violations.

The son of the man who fled the scene was a passenger at the time of the crash and was arrested on four outstanding warrants.
