Fatal accidents kill two motorcyclists

Two motorcycle riders were killed in two separate motorcycle crashes in Jefferson County on Saturday, August 24.

The first accident happened at County Highway O at around 12 p.m. when a motorcyclist slammed into a pickup truck. Enforcers said the motorcycle was heading northbound when it veered to the center line and struck the southbound pickup. Two other motorcycles in the area also crashed after trying to prevent the first accident. A 23-year-old motorcyclist died in the crash.

The second accident happened at around 4 p.m. when another motorcyclist was killed after slamming into a car after failing to negotiate a curve on Highway Y. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead in the hospital.

The two fatal accidents are being investigated by law enforcers.
