Today, more than 100 bicyclists will ride their bikes in silence in order to remember those who were killed or injured in bicycle accidents by spreading the message about bicycle safety.
The Ride of Silence takes place simultaneously in seven different cities in Wisconsin as well as 18 different countries. Safety classes being in June at Wheel & Sprocket, the same place the ride begins.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, each year in Wisconsin, nearly 1,000 bicyclists are injured and 11 are killed.
