A snow storm in in central and northern Wisconsin caused 18 inches of snow to layer the ground. This caused very dangerous driving conditions which lead to school closures.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, many highways in the area have been covered with ice and drivers have been urged to stay away. The storm began late Tuesday and continued through Wednesday. Areas ranged from 2 inches to 18 inches.
The storm also knocked out power for more than 14,000 people, many of these people lived nearly wooded areas in the state. Most school districts throughout the two areas canceled school on Wednesday.
