Wrong-way driver injures 2 in Appleton

A wrong-way driver caused a severe car accident in Appleton that left one person with life-threatening injuries. The accident took place on Highway 41 near Neenah.

The driver was traveling south in the northbound lane when he hit a car head-on. The two individuals in the car that he hit were injured in the accident. The 33-year-old driver opted to flee the scene of the accident. Police arrived shortly after and pulled him over. He was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested. He faces numerous charges against him.

Rescue workers had to airlift one of the individuals in the damaged vehicle to be treated for their severe injuries. The driver of that vehicle only suffered minor injuries in the crash. Police are still investigating the accident.
