According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on November 10, at least 181,620 lbs. of packed salads and sandwiches with chicken and ham are being recalled by Glass Onion Catering due to possible contamination of E. coli O157:H7.
FSIS identified 16 different ready-to-eat salads and sandwich food products with chicken and ham manufactured from September 23 to November 6 that may be contaminated with the harmful bacteria. At least 26 people in several states reportedly became ill and 15 of them said they ate the affected food products.
People exposed to E. coli O157:H7 may suffer from dehydration, in addition to other symptoms.
FSIS and Glass Onion Catering are advising consumers who have bought the recalled foods to immediately throw it away.
